Pre- Algebra
This is a one year course open to all students who have not previously taken Pre-Algebra and who have completed the pre-requisite. Normally this is a course taken during seventh grade. Pre-Algebra provides students with the foundation for the study of advanced mathematics which begins with Algebra I. Properties of real numbers, data analysis, solving equations, introduction to functions, measurement, proportions and probability are included in this course.

Algebra IA
This is a one year course open to all students in grades 8-9 who have not previously taken Algebra I and who have completed the Prerequisite of Pre-Algebra or the equivalent. Enrollment in Algebra IA is primarily based on teacher recommendation. Algebra IA is designed to present the concepts of Algebra I over four semesters versus two. This course caters to students who have struggled with basic math concepts and is followed by Algebra IB. Algebra IA focuses on order of operations, data analysis, properties of real numbers, writing and solving linear equations and inequalities.
This course will make math come alive with its many intriguing examples of algebra in the world around you, from baseball to theater lighting to space exploration.

Algebra IB
This is a one year course open to all students in grades 9-10 who have not previously taken Algebra I and who have completed the Prerequisite of Algebra IA or the equivalent. This course is a continuation of Algebra IA and upon successful completion of Algebra IB, students will have completed all the requirements of Algebra I. In Algebra IB, student will write and solve systems of linear equations and inequalities, use exponential functions, solve quadratic equations, factor polynomials, solve radical and rational equations. is designed to present the concepts of Algebra I over four semesters versus two.
This course will make math come alive with its many intriguing examples of algebra in the world around you, from baseball to theater lighting to space exploration.

Algebra II
Algebra II is a one-year course open to all Grade 10-11students who have not previously taken this class. Algebra II reviews most Algebra I concepts and develops them at a more complex level. Studies are made in irrational and complex numbers and analytic geometry. Exponential and logarithmic functions are briefly examined, as are sequences and series. The study of trigonometry includes the solutions of triangles and the concept of radian measure. Students should be familiar with the use of variables, the manipulation of expressions involving variables, solutions of linear equations and graphing of equations involving one or two variables. They should have been introduced to the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios. Students are required to have a calculator capable of evaluating basic trigonometric functions for homework (recommended Ti-84 Plus or Ti 83). Throughout this course, students will develop learning strategies, critical thinking skill, and problem solving techniques to prepare for future math courses and college entrance exams.
